Emesis not induced given rapid absorption of medication. Animal Poisons Hotline contacted - no previous cases of this medication intoxication reported. Pharmacist consultation advised monitoring given 24-hour duration of action. Literature suggests hypoglycaemic episodes typically occur after exercise in humans.TREATMENT:  Nil indicated at this time.Observations and blood glucose monitoring every 4 hours recommended.PLAN:Hospitalisation and transfer to emergency overnight for observation - owner has elected JCU.
