REASON - Diarrhoea with green stoolHISTORY - See attached photos - bright green stool. Owner emailed the clinic yesterday and supplied photos. Initially dark green stool, that progressed to bright green stool and the explosive liquid diarrhoea. No access to any poisons - rat or snail pellets. O cannot exclude that someone could have dropped something over the fence, but feels that this is unlikely. No vomiting. Normal appetite and energy. Owner has just purchased a new kitty litter product that is bright blue in colour and she cannot exclude that Lumos may have eaten that. EXAMINATIONBAR, HR = 80, RR = 20, Lungs sound clear, no heart murmur, gums appear pale pink, CRT < 2 secs, rectal - soft brown faeces, no signs of bleeding/bruises elsewhere in body. ASSESSMENTGreen stool with diarrhoeaPale MM TREATMENTPro-kolin - 5mls BID PLANBlood collected for coagulation profile and PCV= 0.53Therefore ok to send bloods tonight for panel to be run in the morning. Marked urgent. If anything changes overnight, o can always attend emergency if needed. Discussed what signs to look for. 26/2 AG - coag screen resultsBlood test results are normal. STO and advised. Lumos still has diarrhoea, but it is brown now. Lumos has been well. Discussed can run another coag screen to be cautious, but O elects to monitor given highly unlikely she has had access to rat poisoning. Recheck if diarrhoea persists. O will continue to monitor for any signs of bleeding - gum colour, bruises, swelling, haematuria, blood in faeces etc. Continue with pro-kolin.
