Mature bitch spey
Midline incision through linea
Both ovarian pedicles ligated with 20-0 Biosyn and transfixed with 2-0 Biosyn
Lots o bleeding from fat along the lione of the uterus. There was one spuriting vessles that was not located, but bleeding seemed to be self limiting by the end of the surgery.
Ligate uterus with 2-0 Biosyn and transfixed (was a bit loose so I did spoerate ligations on each side of the uterus to encompass the uterine blod vessles. No bleeding when retunred inside th body.
Still a slittle oozing from the fat, but acceptable (not excessive blood in the body when checked with swabs prior to closure).
Discussed with Dr IC and agreed not excessive

Metacam s/c injection on recovery 1.26ml

Ellie was still very drowsy by the time of her discharge appt at 6.30.
I was concerned in case of any internal bleeding. Ran CBC, no charge, to check. HCT 28 (previosuly for preGA was 45). Consistent with expected losses seen during surgery.
Discussed option to go to 24hr vet for monitoring this evening. O elected to mionitor MM colour, demeanour at home and call me if any concerns. CS to call o at 9pm to touch base.
O messaged Dr CS to adbvised Ellkie was going very well at home, eating, drinking, snuggling with the kids, and MM pink and CRT same as in clinic.

E-collar to be worn until post op check in 7 days
