PRESENTING COMPLAINT: Wound dehiscence.
HISTORY:
- 2 weeks post L BODPUO for UAP.
- Partial wound dehiscence of surgical site, requiring debridement and primary closure today. See prev history.
- Surgery performed: 18/02/26 Surgeon: JF
- BAR at home, DDU normally. Slightly reduced appetite. Owner has no other concerns.
- Has been wearing E collar at home.
Current Medications:
Fasted.

CLINICAL FINDINGS:
Mentation: BAR

P 100 MM; p moist
R. 20. CRT: <2sec
CVS: WNL
Resp: WNL
Surgical site:
- Marked exuberant callous over ulna osteotomy site. Query if tension on wound has contributed to dehiscence.
- Full thickness dehiscence of the surgical site, healthy granulation tissue bed underneath.
ASSESSMENT
Wound breakdown requiring stitch up.
PLAN
- JF prev spoke with WJM regarding case management.
- $700 set fee for stitch up approved by DH.
- Debridement and stitch up.
SURGERY REPORT:

During preparation, wound was packed with sterile lube, hair clipped and exisiting suture removed.
Routine sterile hanging leg prep.
Copious lavage with sterile saline. Elliptical incision around dehisced wound edges. Debrided granulation bed.
Deep subcutaneous layer closed using 0 PDS simple interrupted slip knots.
Subcutaneous later 0 PDS SC.
Interrupted sutures skin 0 PDS.
PLAN:
- To be discharged this evening.
- Continue analgesia and antibiotic as previously prescribed by local vets.

MEDICATIONS: continue as per last surgery
