D+ dehydration, tacky gums, discomfort.

Presented for ongoing D+

Has had D+ since Tuesday morning, went to Harrison Vet clinic earlier in the week. Was started on Hills i/d and prokolin twice daily, which hasn't helped. Also started on panadol and codine as seems very uncomfortable. Passing lots of gas.

Had 2 vomits during the week, not known to eat anything she shouldn't. Eating and drinking well. Small amount of blood in stool notes a few times but likely from straining. Some mucus as well.

Has been swimming in fresh water so O was concerned about Giardia.

Parvo, Corona and Giardia triple test run before coming into clinic - Negative

Brought into consult for triage with nurse

HR - 60
Pulse - Strong and regular
Resp - Panting but normal effort
MM - Pink and slightly tacky
CRT - 2s
Temp - 37.2 in ear, bottom sore unable to ger rectal temp
Mentation - BAR

Advised vitals are normal but since the D+ has continued for so long worth having a vet check.

Spoke to O at 1805, advised that we are looking at another 1-2 hours wait, clinic has gone on bypass for any other patients.

O would like to take Ruby home as she is becoming more unsettled waiting, is happy to try get into RV tomorrow. Advised can try ARH or WICA when they open at 7pm. O wanted to know what she could offer to try get her to drink more to stay hydrated, advised can try adding some low salt chicken stock to her water as the smell might entice her to drink more.

O happy with this advice, elected to leave.
