- Scooting on bottom, last recorded in November.
- Black stools with mucus for the last couple of days.
- Owner has been trying different foods.

Past Medical History:
- 02/2025: Pre-anaesthetic bloods normal, grade 1 dental disease noted.
- 01/2025: Back pain, treated with Meloxicam.
- 12/2024: KC vaccination.
- 09/2024: Anal gland expression. Owner declined discussion of anal gland removal due to a negative experience with another dog.
- 21/08/2023: Wheezing and coughing, suspected irritation from swallowing bone.
- 04/2022: Suspected sore left hind limb from an insect bite.

Physical Examination:
- Weight: 6.5 kg.
- Anal glands: Both glands were full. Left gland emptied easily. Right gland was very full and difficult to express but was successfully emptied.

Impression & Plan:
1. Anal Gland Impaction
- Impression: Anal gland impaction.
- Clinician's recommendations and counselling: Discussed that if glands continue to be problematic, surgical removal could be considered. Owner is aware of potential complications and is reluctant  as other dog had lots of problems post op ++++++++++++
- Treatment planned: Anal gland expression performed.

2. Nail Trimming
- Clinician's recommendations and counselling: Advised on home nail maintenance. Recommended trimming a small amount frequently rather than a large amount infrequently. Suggested using a nail trimmer at home to shave off a small amount from nails that are clicking on the floor. Advised walking on concrete or other hard surfaces to help wear nails down naturally.
- Treatment planned: Minor trim performed on one nail.
