Sedation and imaging. Preapprovd GAP for the procedure. Os declined castration today. Sedated with 0.3ml medetomidine + 0.1ml butorphanol IM. Adequate. 3x view abdo rads all unremarkable - faecal-full large intestine with normal faecal contents. Stomach full but normal axis. Small intestines not distended. Mostly faecal matter within intestines. Flushed both AGs with saline + placed panapex ointment into both AGs filling them up. R anal gland mildly thickened. DDx potential anal gland sacculitis vs. early infection. Abdomen full of faecal contents. Gave 0.55ml melox SC in-betwene shoulder blades + sent home with 3x days melox for Os to give at home. Also sent home with short course of clav at 250mg PO BID to cover for potential AG abscess. O to feed bland diet for next few days and assess pain level - if still straining to defecate consider RC appointment. Consider further imaging/ultrasound etc?
