Dressing placed 5d ago on L hock. Has stayed on well.
Removed dressing. Lump is dry and no smells. No indication for ABs today. Redressed as per MH. Recheck if dressing slips or is taken off by Ruby. Otherwise has appt on Monday for lumpectomy & dental. | 27/02/2026 o just noticed a bleeding lump on Wed. it bled on wed and again this afternoon. bled a lot. dog not licking. not limping. not on any meds.

L hock laterally there is a intradermal lump about 1cm and the centre has a tiny rupture pink tissue that kept bleeding. popliteal LN wnl.
dental was bad - both 108/208 looked like fractured..

advised GA to remove the lump for histo and we can take the chance to do stage 1 COHAT. i am very sure extraction is needed but i suggested to do stage 2 COHAT on another day. i booked 2 GA days for Ruby- one is for the lumpectomy and stage 1 COHAT and one is for stage 2 COHAT. we will be able to provide an estimate for the stage 2 COHAT after the first GA. o agreed with the estimate. I gave her a copy. I told her we will do bandage for the first one week after sx.

in the mean time, we will bandage the lesion to stop the bleeding. i used primapore + sofban + vetwrap around the hock and kept the foot uncovered. advised to keep it dry. we don't need AB now but AB might be needed if it looks worse. bandage change every 3-5 days. o can manage with e-collar if the dog tries to lick it.
