Revisit R hip luxation (toggle pin at Penvet) HISTORY: (NWB lame since surgery did not come in for suture removal removed patch at home) current medications:(finished noroclav & stopped metacam few days ago (Monday?)) EXAMINATION: (NWB RH can palpate hip instability & R leg shorter than L T=39.6 ) ASSESSMENT:(likely toggle failure & re luxation R hip) PLAN: (s/o. to XR -est given for GA) CB: IM sedation 20 ug/kg medetomidine, 0.2 mg/kg butorgesic Excellent/heavy sedation. Lateral and Frog legged Ventrodorsal radiographs. A; Craniodorsal Hip Luxation. Metal implants in place/fibre will be broken. Reversed with Antisedan. P; Phoned Alasdair Renwick Penvet to discuss. He advised repeat Toggle unlikely to be successful uunless there has been a single significant reasion causing the reluxation. Alasdair to ring owner to discuss. Consider FHNE or Total Hip Replacement. Continue Metacam. Can also have Panadol 250 mg twice daily.
