03/03/2026 bilateral anal gland abcesses. needs surgery
- Presenting for: Lily presenting for recurrent issues with both anal glands.
- Onset: Owner reports one anal gland issue was the original problem; the right side has ruptured multiple times and refills repeatedly. Worsened recently.
- E/D/U/D:
    * Owner reports suspected tenesmus and that it may be impacting ability to pass stool.
    * Appetite reported as normal.
    * Overall: Eating normally; other drinking, urination, and defecation details not provided.

- History of Present Illness: Owner reports bilateral anal sac disease with the right anal sac repeatedly filling and rupturing despite expression. This morning there was a significant discharge noted. Owner feels it is causing defecation difficulty.

04/03/2026 Admitted for sx treatment of bilateral AG abscess. 

Pre op exam: Well, but noticed 4 lower incisors wobbly, on verge of falling out, as well as AG issue. 
placed 22g R-cephalic iv catheter. 
Medetomidine 0.2ml + meth 0.27ml iv. 

Induced with Alfaxan to effect. 
Intubated with 7.5 ET, good fit. 
Stable GA.

open, drain bilateral anal gland abscess, place penrose in situ.
removed 4x lower incisors as falling out. 

enroflox s/c and oral at home.
metacam s/c and oral at home.
remove drain fri/sat
