05/03/2026 Subjective/ Reason: Diarrhoea Objective: - supposed to be here for vaccinations today but now has tummy problems - explosive diarrhoea in the past 24-48 hours - has been fairly flat since - yesterday had soft stools in the garden, was busting to go to outside - woke owners up at 1am to go outside - between 1-6am this morning, soiled the whole rug - no blood or mucus in diarrhoea - no vomiting - still has an appetite, didn't feed this morning - drinking so much water, finished whole water bowl yesterday and today - no access to any foreign bodies, hasn't been on a walk for the past 48 hours, hasn't gotten into anything - no changes to diet - live in st ives, could have wildlife in the backyard but didn't see anything, very unusual!!! - UTD on parasite treatment Vitals: Weight: stable BCS/ body condition: 6/9 RR: panting HR: 100 Temp: 37.8 Mm colour/CRT: black MM, can't tell :(( Dental Grade: 1/4 Thoracic auscultation: clear, no wheezes or crackles, no murmurs or arrhythmias Abdominal palpation: a bit tense on caudal palpation but otherwise comfortable Rectal exam: lots of diarrhoea LNs: NAD Mouth exam: NAD Skin: NAD Ears: NAD Eyes: NAD Genitourinary: NAD Gait: NAD Stifles/ hips: NAD Lumps and bumps: NAD Diet: kibble, sometimes raw carrots and chicken Assessment: - Not fit for vaccination, need to investigate diarrhoea Plan/ Treatment: - Hospitalisation - full bloods + cPL - Check dehydration status, IV fluids if needed - Get faecal sample, send off for testing - MUST BE PICKED UP BY 5PM Blood Results: - Mild anaemia, doesn't fit dehydration picture.
