Sumo is presenting for a 5 month recheck Sumo is being managed for inflammatory nervous system disease Sumo was last seen by medicine on 14/10/2025. At this time, Sumo was responding well to being on phenobarbitone (he was having seizure activity prior to starting this). A phenobarbitone blood test was performed which was below the reference range however the seizure control had been good so management and dosing was unchanged. Current medications: Prednisolone 5mg PO q24hrs (unchanged since 14/10/2025) Phenobarbitone 22.5mg PO q12hr Examination Findings: Quiet, alert and responsiveHR - 100, RR - 32, mm pink, CRT 1.5 sec, Temp - 38.6, Wt - 11.4kgCardiorespiratory - normal heart rate, rhythm and no murmurs audible. Normal bronchovesicular lung sounds. Oral cavity - visible mild plaque and tartar on lower dentitionAbdomen - mild discomfort on caudal abdominal palpation - growling - needing to be muzzledLymph nodes - normal Neurologic Exam Findings: Mentation - mildly obtunded. Posture - mildly crouched stance in the pelvic, intermittent intention tremor, infrequent circling to the right. Gait - mild ataxia worse in the pelvic limbs. Postural reactions - absent conscious placing in the left pelvic limb, present and mildly reduced in the right, normal in the forelimbs. Cranial nerves - absent menace response bilaterally. Follows cotton wool on the right, poorly on the left. Normal palpebral reflexes. Normal pupilliary light reflexes bilaterally.
