Reason: V+, D+ - Desexed YesterdayAppointment Notes: Special payment terms existHISTORY:6m FS Cavoodle presenting with v+ and d+ post spay yesterday.Was normal and happy this morning.Gave previcox (8.6mg/kg) in the morning with food. Started having loose stools that turned into d+ after lunch. V+ started in the afternoon - lasted 2 hours. Refused dinner tonight. Had cone on whole time, did not go outside. No previous medical history reported from O Pre GA bloods reportedly WNL Gets RC puppy kibbles and chicken , no new food recently. UTD with FTW and vaccEXAMINATION:BARHR 160RR 40PL ssfpMM pink CRT <2sT 38.7Abd soft and comfortable on palpation Surgery site (picture attached) not painful at touch, minor swelling, mild bruised but suture looks good & intact.Chest auscultation WNL Oral exam NSF POCUS performed by DL and EW No FF in all quadrants. No obvious pathology noted - liver/kidney/spleen appears grossly normal. D++ observable, peristalsis good. ASSESSMENT:Post-operative check. Mild inflammation at the surgical site, otherwise NAD.  Open ddx - anaesthesia effect vs previcox reaction vs other cause. TREATMENT:outpatient treatmentDiscontinue previcox Paracetamol children 1ml TID for three days. - Pro-Kolon+ probiotic paste: 2mL PO BID for 3 days. Can start tonight.Maropitant 1mg/kg sc inj given in clinic. PLAN:Home into owner's care. If v+ persists or more lethargic revisit. CLIENT COMMUNICATION:Discussed possible causes - as recent spay recommended POCUS to rule out hemoabdomen - O consented. After US discussed WNL findings. Explained to O v+ and d+ are common after GA and cause today in unknown - surgical site and US looks good.
