Previously prescribed Cortavance ear spray (expired 02/12/2025) and oral medications including Zactin and Apoquel. Owner reports good compliance with treatment regimen. Some concern re recent head shaking episodes but uncertain if normal behaviour or early signs of ear infection recurrence. Lives on 5-acre property with muddy conditions during wet season.O had a panic earlier due to expire dear meds - worried she has damaged canals.Examination:Eyes: appear normal - ophthalmoscopy not doneEars: otoscopy performed - able to visualise tympanic membrane bilaterally, minimal brown discharge present, no significant inflammation noted - look great; small amy waxy brown in vert canals.Peripheral Lymph Nodes: NAD/WNLChest Auscultation: Heart sounds normal, rate 120 normal, no abnormal arrhythmiaLungs sound normal, normal respiratory patternMusculoskeletal: Normal gaitSkin/Coat: Mild erythema noted on ventral paws, slight redness around collar area, no significant hair loss or rashes observed, overall well controlledLaboratory and Other Diagnostics:Ear cytology - no yeast organisms identified, minimal wax and debris onlyAssessment:Allergic dermatitis/otitis  currently well controlled. Expired ear medication may have reduced potency but no harm done.. Mild pedal erythema likely related to environmental exposure (wet grass, muddy conditions).
