The owners took her for a walk and no pain was observed. This evening Xanthie was yelping when lying down, panting a lot more, and felt hot. Gait appeared normal, and no pain when flexing neck. Still suspicious there may be some underlying pain that could be hidden. NEURAL: BAR, full neuro exam not performed. LYMPH NODES: Mandibular, prescapular, and popliteal normal in size, shape and texture. Yelping this morning and non-ambulatory on left leg 2. Increased respiratory effort Xanthe presented today for acute onset of pain suspected to be in the left forelimb. Physical exam findings were normal with no obvious signs of lameness, or pain. It is suspected the yelping on abdominal palpation could be due to referred pain or due to the dog being nervous. Due to the increased respiratory rate and Greyhounds being stoic animals we believe Xanthie may be masking their pain. PLAN (incl. alternative options):1. 1x 500 mg Paracetamol tablet BID for 3-5 days and 1x 300mg tablet of Gabapentin up to 3x daily 2. Monitor at home, rest only. If pain does not resolve, refer to surgical team for full orthopaedic exam. Client Communication: Vital Signs
