Left ear was examined yesterday and found to be problematic, with right ear also affected.Current Meds: Epiotic ear cleaner (same product prescribed by 24/7 emergency vet)Examine:Behavioural: Vocal during examinationEars: Bilateral ear infection confirmed. Right ear has severe infection, left ear less severe but both contain bacteria. Right ear also has Malassezia present. Both ears warm to touch and painful.Diagnostics: Ear cytology performed on both ears under microscope - confirmed bacterial infection bilaterally with Malassezia also present in right ear. Maisie's ears examined and found normal with no infection present on cytology.Assessment:Bilateral otitis externa - Right ear with mixed bacterial and Malassezia infection, left ear with bacterial infection. Right ear more severely affected than left.Plan:New Meds/Tx:- Dermotic ear drops 1ml into each ear BID for 10 days. Bottle designed to be completely used by end of treatment course.- Demonstrated proper ear cleaning technique using Epiotic - insert syringe deeper into ear canal than client was previously doing, use entire syringe contents, massage ear base, then use separate clean syringes for each ear to avoid cross-contamination- Syringes can be washed in soapy water and reused after drying in sunshineAdditional Discussion:- Recheck appointment needed in 14 days to ensure infection has cleared- If any Dermotic remains after 10-day course, discard remaining product    Vital Signs
