HISTORY:Oakley is a 1yo ME Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever presented for ingesting an underwear. Specific History Questions:- Vomiting: Nil v+/r+- Mentation/Behaviour: Energy levels normal- Defecation: Nil d+- Urination: U+ wnl- Diet & Appetite: Appetite normal- Drinking: Drinking normally Current meds:- nilProphylaxis: unknownPre-existing conditions:- nil, healthy priorToxins: nil access to known toxins including cycads, lillies baits, molds, medications or other known toxic plants Triage:HR: 120RR: 20Temp: 38.2Mm: pink and moistCrt: <2Mentation: BAR EXAMINATION:Body Condition Score: 4/9Hydration status (%): clinically euhydratedPain score: 0/4Cardiovascular: cardiac auscultation normal, normal rhythm, pulse pressures normal and synchronousRespiratory: thoracic auscultation clear sounds bilaterally, respiratory effort normal, no nasal dischargeNeurological: Mentation appropriate. The reversal agent has been administered and they are bright, alert, and responsive.MANAGEMENT PLAN:- Discharge to owner's care.- Monitor for any further vomiting after returning home.- Feed a bland diet of chicken and rice for the next 24 hours.TREATMENT (Fluid Therapy & Medications refer to Smartflow):-Apomorphine 6.5mg tablet x 1-Metoclopramide 1mg/kg SQPLAN:No food for the next two hours. Feed a bland diet of chicken and rice. Monitor at home. No further follow-up scheduled unless concerns arise.CLIENT COMMUNICATION:Discussed post-sedation care with the owner. Advised that Oakley has been given a reversal agent. Instructed to withhold food for two hours. Explained that one more episode of vomiting on the way home would be acceptable, but to contact us if vomiting continues at home. Recommended feeding a bland diet of chicken and rice.
