PRESENTATION : EARS

History: spot in right eye noticed only today - no weeping or rubbing at eye. Ears seem irritated too - on and off sensitivity - itches them a fair bit to point of whimpering.
O will sometimes clean at home with a cloth and warm water and also got a cleaning product from pet store but doesnt use often
Parasite prevention:
Diet: TOW dry and chicken carcass sometimes

PHYSICAL EXAMINATION:
Cardiac: HR 100 MM pk CRT <2
Respiratory: RR strong regular breaths of normal effort and depth
Neurological: No ataxia or obvious neurological deficits in consultation
Musculoskeletal: Well muscled ,7/9 no obvious abnormalities or irregularities
Gastrointestinal: Soft palpable abdomen no abnormalities detected on deep investigation
Skin: Bright thick healthy coat
Ocular: bilateral dirty waxy thick debris
Oral: Clear of major tartar or calculus build up , healthy mucosa
Ears: Clear of major waxy build up cool pinnae
Rectal: NE

DIAGNOSTIC INVESTIGATION
Ear cytology: bilateral rods +++
Fluorescein Stain: NSF

ASSESSMENT
OE

TREATMENT
Cleaned ears with otoflush
Trimmed nails

PLAN
Rx Prednisolone 20mg tapering dose
Rx aurizon 0.75ml OU BID
Rx otoflush
RC ears in 10 days

RECOMMENDATION:
Add more fibre to diet - psyllium husk
Weight Loss
