Reason: Hot SpotAppointment Notes: kgbreactive with other dogs will wait in the carpark and call us when they get herewants to talk about meds as wellHistory: Developed a sore over R shoulder region after playing roughly with a friend's dog. O has clipped fur around it and been bathing with salty water. O a little unclear on whether it was ulcerated to start with or if it started as a discreet mass which then ulcerated. Micah can be a bit reactive with other dogs and doesn't like his feet touched. O has just moved house and Micah is a bit more stressed than usual atm. Previous broken ad infected nail healed up and grew back fine Examination: BAR - being really quite well behaved today - did not touch his feet Very sweet and loving pats today TPR: wnl MM: pk, mNails are looking healthy - not overly long atm 2x2cm round ulcerated patch on R shoulder region - does seem almost like a mass as it is slightly raised and discrete Assessment: Most likely dermatitis secondary to a graze or small dog play fighting woundCould possibly by a granuloma? Possibility it is actually neoplastic - ie SCC a thought given he is a white dog (not typical location though) A bit too flat to accurately FNA and dog can certainly get reactive so not pushing our luck today Treatment: Trial Tx for hotspot and see if it resolves - if not resolving or getting any bigger than I have recommended we just surgically remove it and send for histo - would be a good time to trim his nails too! Ceph 1000mg tabs (10) - 1/2 bid po for 10 days Pred 20mg (7) - 1x sid po for 4 days then 1x eod - advised about potential PUPD etc Recommended we try him on low-dose gabapentin now as a regular thing (to help a little with stress) then can use a bigger dose prior to nail trims - recommended that we also give him ACP with the gaba for nail trims though did not dispense this today - Gaba 300mg (40) - 1x bid po but give 4x po three hours before nail trims O to clean the lesion with dilute iodine bid RC if not resolving and consider booking for Sx--- 04/03/2026 10:04:41 AM BB8:Examinations - Resolved - sent txt Vital Signs Weight: 36.4;
