Reason: Initial - Ataxic, Falling Over Appointment Notes: Hx attachedHistory: BIOP since 3 years of age. Boston is a 8 year old MN Maltese Shih Tzu who presents for ataxia. Had a eye lump checked at regular vets and owner reprots when dog returned after eye examination he appeared extremely flat and lethargic. When returned home he was ambulatory but appeared wobbly and weak. Presented to regular vets on 13/2/26 following ongoing difficulty walking and appearing unsteady, occasionally falling over when walking. On examination she was noted to appear weak with reduced proprioception in all limbs. He was discharged with oral meloxicam and instructions for rest and referred to VRH for further investigation. Over the last 2 weeks his weakness/stumbling has not progressed. Frequently stumbling and falling over, knuckling also in the thoracic limbs. No issues bending down to eat/drink. No regurgitation or vomiting. No yelping. Current meds:- none- antinolDiet: mydog wet food. Lives with 2 other dogs (GSD)Examine: 4.4kgRight sided proprioceptive deficits.
