Happened 4 months ago and O's went to WAVES, found he ws quite sensitive in his elbow - L elbow. Resolved with Meloxicam and rest. Had an episode again about 4 days agoPrevious episodes haven't been as bad but the last two episodes (4 months ago and last week) have been the worst so farExamination: Minimal examination today due to temperament, lovely boy in consult but knwon to snap if uncomfortableAmbulating with grade IV/VI left forelimb lameness, no palpable swelling in shoulder or elbow on brief palpation, ROMs not tested. No swelling noted in paw or on distant examMM pink, dental grade 1/4, eyes clear and open, ears have no obvious swelling or discomfort. Comfortable on brief abdominal palpationAssessment: Lameness, recurring - soft tissue injury vs. Elbow dysplasia vs. OCD vs. Neoplasia vs. Other. Concern for elbow dysplasia given prior localisation to elbow and O's reports that he is comfortable on palpation of the paw at home.Treatment: Metacam 50kg dose PO SID 4-5 daysConsent has been given by the client to proceed with this treatment  -  Yes/No Plan:Recommended Meloxicam and rest for 4-5 days with more meloxicam on hand if flare ups occur. Discussed imaging - radiography vs. Referral for CT - DP to get in touch with WAVEs surgery and discuss case for recommendations--- 18/02/2026 13:43:02 PM AMR:Examinations - Resolved - Malcolm well, nil reaction to metacam, Os to monitor improvement over next 4-5 days - TH--- 20/02/2026 17:56:59 BLS:WAVES returned email advising best to refer for CT straight away, DP called and left VM.
