Diagnosis or signs:Lame
Consult notes
27/02/2026 Yest am limping LF, had been unsettled overnight and had had rough play ++ with other dogs the evening before. More settled last night.
Ongoing bump on tail, not bothering her.
Otherwise well in self.

Gave dose meloxicam yesterday, not sure how much as didn't have correct syringe so just gave v small amount. Also gave 1/4 of a chill pill yesterday to help keep rested.

PEx BAR, lovely girl.
Not lame in clinic.
NAD palp/manip/exam either FL.
Small boney thickening couple of inches up from tip of tail, smaller than prev, comfy on palp/pressure over area, no instability - suspect residual thickening from suspected initial trauma - poss from getting caught in door/during play with other dogs/from bashing tail whilst wagging etc.

Continue to monitor tail - suspect likely to always have small bump here and may see boney change if did rads. Neoplasia etc much less likely given progress. If grows/becomes painful then prob rads +/- FNA.

Lameness - no evidence in cons but stoic girl. Suspect strain from rough play most likely. Keep rested next few days, can also give 25kg dose meloxicam sid next 1-3ds if needed (gave new syringe to dose correctly)..

Also discuss early signs OA, what to watch for, joint supps etc.
