not himself, bum is concerning him keeps sitting down History: - runs and then sits down, doesn't want to move further - ate last night but laying down - usually will go to back lawn but now just sitting down - no bones - diet: kibbles with freeze dried lamb - wild taste - brav quantum and proheart inj - not UTD with worming Physical Examination: BAR, temp: not taken BCS - 6/9 Lymph nodes: normal Mouth - dental disease grade 2, mucous membranes: pink, Crt <2sec Ears - no abnormalities Eyes - conjunctiva and orbit normal Skin and coat - normal Chest - thoracic auscultation normal, HR: 120 Abdomen - all abdominal viscera palpate normally Limbs - no lameness detected bilaterally very full anal glands, red raw bum - white pastey thick anal glands Differential Diagnosis: anal gland abscess vs neoplasia vs parasites (not utd with worming) Diagnosis: Anal gland abscess Sedated anal gland flush - sedation: medetomidine 0.01mg/kg and methadone 0.3mg/kg IM, alfax as needed IV - flushed with chlorhex and then filled glands with framxin H - reveresed fully with atipamezole IM - drontal given PO in hospital Plan - ecollar for 7 days - d/c 4pm
