Reason: EcC - Bleeding Lump On EarPresented and seen by Dr     @ Time/DateRegular Vet: Parramata vet greencross, north paramataPresenting Problem:History:He is an indoor only cat.The owner noticed a bleeding lump behind the right ear. The lump might have been present yesterday but not before Friday.He has a history of urethral obstruction.He is also known to have mild heart murmur.He is on urinary diet but not on any medication currently.The owner usually gives gabapentin before presenting to vetExamination Findings:On presentation, he was bright, alert and responsive.Examination was limited due to the temperament.There was a 2cm lump behind the right pinna and there was dried discharge on the lump.Assessment:Likely abscess, though neoplasia could not be ruled out.Client Communication:Advised it was most likely abscess but he would require sedation to confirm and do procedure. Discussed following options;1) sedation for FNA, cytology and lance and lavage once confirming abscess2) give gabapentin and re-present to the RV3) antibiotic treatmentRecommended the first option and gave an estimate of $1000.
