Reason:    GI issuesDarcie has been a long term sensitive GI dog prone to flareups of diarrhoea.  Last week Darcie was lethargic and drooly.  O started her on chicken and rice and prokolin.  Lethargy has resolved and no longer drooly.  Faeces lately have been quite dry.  O thought she may be constipated due to dry faeces so gave a tablespoon of pumpkin last night and today faeces quite soft and yellow.  Normal diet is RC dry food adult formula and RC Gastrointestinal - mix of both.Lately Darcie has been eating lots of grass which is very unusual for her.  Not vomiting afterward and still eating the chicken and rice offered.Examination:   BAR at consult. Mm pink and moist.  Hydration fine.  No weight loss.  Skin and coat healthy.  NAD on auscultation - HR 108, normal sounds and rhythm.  NAD on abdo palpation - perhaps slight gas evident caudal abdo but no pain, no masses etc.  T39.9 - repeated and confirmed correct.  Assessment: - Chronic GI issues- Eating grass - significance unknown but new and unusual for Darcie- Pyrexia?? - I think this is more situational related to Darcie's anxiety in car and clinic today.Plan:   Discussed with O - as Darcie has had ongoing issues with GI changes I think it's worth pursuing a little workup to ensure there's nothing we should be specifically managing.  Include resting cortisol in case Addison's in the background.  Advised can be frustratingly normal results in which case abdo ultrasound may be of benefit.If bloods okay may consider switch to hypoallergenic diet and assess response.  O okay with this plan.Laboratory:   In house glucose (Darcie was jumpy to collect blood from so not enough to send to lab for this test) - 5.6mmol/lBloods sent to QML for canine uninterpreted plus resting cortisol.--- 07/09/2025 16:20:59 HR:Update:   Called and advised pancreas profile, T4 and cortisol all normal.  Still waiting for body function.  Darcie has been bright, happy and eating well over the past few days.  I'll contact O again when rest of profile comes throught.  HT    Vital Signs    Weight: 11.8;
