No other dogs at present. <br>Has been BAR and happey, EDUD until abnormal f+ started yesterday.<br>Saturday passed normal f+; Monday was soft. This am went for a walk and did small wet f+ with blood- Linda showed photo- streaks of frank blood.<br>Has been eating normally. Normal diet- kibble with rice/chicken as provided by owners.<br>Appears to be a scavenger on walks- unsure if could have snaffled something- nose to the ground when outside, Linda careful to avoid him eating anything. <br>Seems BAR and happy, keen for walks etc. No vomiting. <br>Gave 2ml ProKolin this morning.<br>CE:<br>MMs pink CRT 2 sec. HR normal, no obv murmur. RR panting. T39.3- stressed? No blood on thermometer. No abdo discomfort on palpation- no f+ in distal colon, no FBs/dilated loops. Abdo generally soft and relaxed. <br>demeanour in consult is friendly but uncertain- wagging tail but declined small piece of treat. <br>DDx:<br>Haemorrhagic enteritis- small amt frank blood, soft faeces. No vomiting. Likely causes indiscriminate eating (eg bird/possum poo etc) v stress awat from home. <br>Rx:<br>Linda obtained permission by text from O to prescribe abs. Rx metronidazole 250mg tabs 3/4 tab BID 5d. Continue ProKolin 2ml BID further 2d. Wihold dry food- chicken and rice only- until normal faeces then reintroduce. <br>PLAN:<br>If gdoes not resolve or deteriorates at all then to contact us immediately. Expect resolution of symptoms n ext 48-72hrs. </p> </div> </div></html>
