Appointment Notes: burst cystHistory: prone to cysts all his life; had one removed surgically a few yrs agoone on his Left fore leg/paw looks like it has burst so O placed bandage on at homeIs on apoquel everyday; no other known medical conditions or medicationsExam & Assessment: Sebaceous cyst/ adenoma on L distal limb caudal aspect, doesn't currently appear infected. Possibly gets irritated, Brooklyn licks excessively and exacerbates irritationR shoulder cyst pprox 2.5 cm wide - currently infected / burstTreatment: clipped and cleaned; expressed lots of caseous material from it, but still a lot of thickening in dermal tissue- Cephalexin 300 mg BID x 14 days- Meloxicam oral 2-3 days to reduce pain and inflammation- Neocort to apply on all irritated cysts / adenomasPlan:Advised revisit in 5-6 days and reassess; will most likely need to surgically excise this cyst to prevent repeated necrotic material buildup and bursting.
