<p>Client: Lisa with Draco Presenting for recheck of skin condition</p>
<p>History: First episode of skin lesions December 2025, treated with antihistamines, wash and antibiotics - resolved. Recurred after a few weeks - worse on 2nd presentation. <br>Was put on Prednisolone, Rilexine (completed couple of days ago), Malaseb washing.  <br>Rescue dog obtained at 6 months of age from Warrnambool. <br>Turned 1 year in September. <br>Minimal pruritus - not scratching or licking constantly, occasional licking when lying inside.<br>Red rash is gone, some scarring dt severity of dermatitis. <br>First time skin issues. <br>UTD all preventative health.</p>
<p>Exam:<br>Mentation: BAR<br>Temp: NE <br>Cardio: HR = PR =108 bpm, no murmur or arrythmia<br>Resp: RR = 20, normal BV sounds<br>Eyes: Clear<br>Ears: Clear<br>Teeth: Gde 0/4,<br>Other oral exam: Normal <br>MM/CRT: pink/moist, CRT&lt;2s<br>Abdomen: soft and comfortable<br>Skin &amp; haircoat: Patchy skin changes noted. Previously very red and plain areas now showing resolution. Reduced erythema compared to previous presentations.<br>Musculoskeletal: Normal <br>Lymph Nodes: Normal <br>Neurologic: Normal<br>Urogenital: Normal<br>Rectal: Did not perform rectal exam<br>Other problems found: None</p>
<p>Assessment:<br>Dermatitis resolved, some pigmentation changes post healing. <br>DDx: Allergic skin disease vs single exposure event</p>
<p>Plan:<br>Treatment:<br>- Continue Malaseb washes<br>- Watch closely for any resolution of symptoms. <br>- EARLY intervention best. <br><br>Recommendations &amp; Client Comms: Monitor for recurrence of skin lesions. Discussed allergy management options including Cytopoint injection (for less severe cases or difficult to tablet patients) and Apoquel tablets (for more severe cases). Both are monoclonal antibodies without steroid side effects. Will consider initiating allergy medication if skin flares again.<br><br>Recheck: Yes, if skin condition recurs or worsens</p></html>

Not constantly licking, minimal pruritis. O attempted bathing with special wash previously dispensed. Previously on antihistamines (from prior visit) which have run out, no improvement. Previously on antibiotics (rilexene) which cleared initial infection but a few tablets remain from last course. Underlying rash never completely resolved. Most recent flare noticed 1-2 days prior to visit. Dog otherwise well - BAR, normal appetite, normal activity level. Approx 18 months of age.Diet: Parasite Control: utdExam:Mentation: BARSkin & haircoat: Multiple round red scaled patches on ventral abdomen and medial thighsAssessment:dermatitisDDx: Bacterial pyoderma, allergic dermatitisPlan:Diagnostics: - Skin cytology performed - significant cocci bacterial presence identifiedTreatment: - Prednisone 5mg tablets PO SID for 5 days, then eod until finished- Complete remaining rilexene tablets from previous dispensing then continue onto this batch for 2 weeks- Continue medicated shampoo bathing as previously prescribed twice weeklyRecommendations & Client Comms: Complete full 2 week course of Prednisone and antibiotics. Continue medicated shampoo bathing. Likely age-related allergy development (common 1-4 years of age). If infection clears but recurs, will consider allergy medication trial and further investigation for underlying allergic triggers including possible seasonal allergies.Recheck: Yes, in 2 weeks for repeat skin cytology to ensure infection cleared and reassess skin condition. Seen Draco back today with Sean o reports much improved lesions are healing up no longer red hes not bothered by them although was never too itchy with them in the first place.REchecked woods lamp negative. Multiple elliptical lesions inguinally suspect epidermal collarettes.
