Occasionally active with zoomies but less active than the client's other 3-year-old cat who is slimmer. Sometimes climbs but not frequentlyEXAMWt: 4.9 kgBehavioural: Cooperative during examination but showed discomfort during manipulation of affected limbMusculoskeletal: Consistent and repeatable pain response localised to the left elbow upon palpation and hyperextension. No evidence of fracture. Paws and distal limb structures appear normal on palpationIntegumentary: Occasionally sweaty/clammy paws noted by owner, sometimes with reddened appearanceASSESSMENTLeft elbow pain - likely soft tissue injury from overexertion or landing incorrectlyPLANNew Meds/Tx:- metacam (anti-inflammatory liquid with liver flavour) at 4.5 kg dose orally once daily with food for one week. Discontinue if vomiting or diarrhoea developsAdditional Discussion:- Restrict activity where possible, avoid encouraging zoomies for one week- If condition does not improve after one week of treatment, radiographs will be required- If condition improves but recurs after stopping medication, further investigation neededClient Comms:- Contact clinic if no improvement after one week of treatment or if gastrointestinal upset occurs with medication    Vital Signs
