Limited PEO fitted brachycephalic muzzleTried to examine vulva, Daisy started panting heavily through muzzle and became increasingly distressed. Examination discontinued to avoid respiratory distress. RBC, WBCDaisy, an entire female bulldog, presented with a history of haematuria and vulval discharge. Examination was limited due to stress, a common issue in brachycephalic breeds. The main differential diagnoses included urinary tract infection and pyometra. Given that she is eating and drinking well, an acute, life-threatening pyometra is less likely. Urinalysis results are consistent with a urinary tract infection. While a uterine infection cannot be completely ruled out without further imaging, the current findings strongly support a diagnosis of a urinary tract infection.Treatment: Consent has been given by the client to proceed with this treatment - YesPlan:Home with amoxyclav 20mg/kg PO BID x10d then recheckMust be on calming medication for all visitsBring back sooner INI or worsening.
