Reason - Sore eyes, v quietHx - Came home and found Nugget in his bed. Didn't want to come out for treat which is abnormal. Then noticed that both eyes were partially shut. Rang regular vet - suggested a dose of amacin but didn't have any appt free. Came here. No hx of trauma, was in garden earlier. No vomiting or scratching at body etc. Exam - BAR; R eye - mod PLH but eye wide open. Flurocein negative both side - no scratch or ulcer present. No obv FB seen. R side very watery - wet around eye. No swelling of eyelids. L eye - mild blepharospasm but less inflamn. Less discharge. Both pupils equal. Anterior chamber clear of sediment or blood. Assessment - Acute conjuctibitis - ddx allergic (rubbed against something, insect bite, other) vs FB (grit/dust/plant material) vs other Plan - Since much improved on amacin already and no ulcers, elected to continue meds for 5 days .RV if cloudy, more painful, more discharge etc. Also montior for behavioural changes - seems fine now - eating treats etc. Ok to give 1/2 zyrtec when gets home in case of allergy if seems itchy at all.
