Reason: 6 month recheck History: Has had a couple of episodes of otitis externa since he was last assessed. No current medications for the past few weeks. Sometimes oes hear owner when called. Some vision reduction Energy levels have been good.Eating and drinking normally. Beransa injections intermittently for lameness.Benson is presenting for a 6-month recheck (blood pressure +/- recheck liver enzymes). Benson is being managed for hyperadrenocorticism, degenerative joint disease, allergic dermatitis, otitis externa. Benson was last seen 22/09/25. At this time, he was clinically doing well. His liver parameters had improved. Mild ALP elevation was suspected to be due to hyperadrenocorticism. BP was stable. Epiotic and Dermotic was recommended based on in-house cytology (rare clusters of cocci and short chains of cocci bilaterally). An ear recheck was recommended in 10-14 days. Current Medications: Denamarin small dog 1 tablet PO q 24 hr on an empty stomachAmlodipine 1.25 mg PO q12 hr Benazepril 5 mg PO q 24 hr - needs a prescription - due to run out next monthTrilostane 150 mg PO q 24 hr each AM (reduced from 23/09/2024 from 180 mg daily) Beransa PRNCytopoint PRNExamination Findings: Bright, alert and responsiveHR - 120, RR - panting, mm pink,Temp 38.6, SBP - 204bpm #2 LFL, Wt 7kg- , BCS 4/9Cardiorespiratory - normal lung sounds. Grade 1/6 left apical systolic heart murmur. Mild expiratory push. Mildly coarse bronchovesicular lung sounds. Abdomen - mild pot belly, comfortable on palpationMusculoskeletal - thickened stifles bilaterally. Lymph nodes - normal palpationRepeat BP @ 2pm 160 #3 LFLLaboratory: ALB 35ALT 102ALP 725TBIL 5An ACTH stimulation test was performed 4.5 hours post trilostane. Plan: The in house liver panel indicates that Benson's ALT results remains normal. He continues to have a moderate increase in ALP. Albumin and bilirubin are normal. An external ACTH stimulation test result is currently pending. Benson's owners can phone for results on Thursday afternoon. If these results are okay, treatment will continue unchanged for the next 6 months.
