Pododermatitis

Treatment:
Apoquel 16mg BID for 7 days, then SID
PMP 1ml in left ear BID for 10 days

Plans:
repeat ear cytology in 10 days, O may request script for ongoing apoquel

Examination Findings:- 
Hydration: normal
General demeanour: QAR
Temperature: N/T
Cardiovascular: HR- 120, nil murmur auscultated
Respiratory: clear lung sounds and normal effort
Abdomen: soft on palpation
Eyes: nil discharge
Ears: Externally moderate erythema, scanty discharge
Otoscopic examination: moderate discharge observed in ear canals bilaterally. TM. - intact
Oral exam: mm pink and moist CRT 1-2 sec. Dental Score(1-4):
Integument:  nsf - no scaling and erythema
Urogenital: nsf
Peripheral LNs: wnl
Musculoskeletal: wnl, full M/S exam not performed
Gait: able to stand without assistance, walks normally
Neurological: alert 
Rectal exam: Nil

Ear cytology: 
  L -  cocci + yeast +
  R -  cocci + yeast +


Assessment: 
Otitis externa bilaterally - malassezia, mixed infection (yeast and cocci).

Rx
Topigen into each ear canal bid 10 d
O still have Apoquel at home which is helping the skin

R/v after 10 d for cytology and possibly C&S if indicated
