HISTORYPresenting for: Elvis, a 1 year 3 month old, 7.5 kg dog presenting for recheck of dermatitis.Historical Conditions: Previous dermatitis treated with cream and E-collar for 7 days.Skin: Dermatitis has been fluctuating - improved with treatment but worsened when E-collar removed. Currently appears to be healing with dry, scabby areas. Hair loss noted in affected area.Current Meds: Previously treated with antibiotic cream.Other: Owner stops dog from licking when possible but cannot monitor continuously.EXAMMentation: BARWt: 7.5 kgIntegumentary: Area of previous dermatitis appears dry and healing. No active redness or inflammation. Scabby, healing tissue palpable. Hair loss noted in affected area with evidence of hair regrowth beginning.ASSESSMENTResolving dermatitis - Previously treated with topical antibiotic cream, currently healing well without active inflammation.Normal licking behaviour - Dog's licking in genital area is normal self-cleaning behaviour.PLANDiagnostics:- Free recheck in 10 days to confirm complete resolution (optional if owner feels condition has resolved).New Meds/Tx:- No additional treatment needed at this time.- If condition worsens (redness, rawness, or excessive licking), return for possible systemic antibiotic therapy.Client Comms:- Discussed normal licking behaviour as part of self-cleaning.- Return if condition worsens with redness or raw skin.- Hair will continue to regrow in affected area as healing progresses.

Mild alopecia in affected areas.ASSESSMENTContact dermatitis vs atopic dermatitis - Mild to moderate erythema with mild alopecia and scabbing affecting ventral abdomen and medial thighs.
