History: EDUD normal no V+C+D+ O said 3 days ago jumped off bed and pulled the back leg and started to limp from wet paws no current meds also been scratching a lot off chicken - but was on big dog food- found chicken and beef in there advised to start big dog food but single protein currently on sensitive skin royal canin- mackeral and kangaroo she can be fussyExamination:nervous in the room- owner ok to holdBAR friendly vitals stable pink mm crt 1 secshaking on RHL- LNs WNL but caudal to the stifle joint is thicker than the LHL weight bearing- appears more like cruciate ligament injury - not fracture or torn can hold weight in consult, and owner mentioned some times can jump on the bed still skin appears WNL today- thick dark coat hard to observe skin issues- but no broken skin or inflammation today Assessment: limping- cruciate lig injury atopy or food related allergy Treatment: metacam oral 1mg 2 tablet SID PO for one week with strict rest starting today apoquel 16mg -half tablet TWICE daily for 2 weeks then HALF tablet ONCE daily long term recheck next month to extend tablet long term or need to move to hypoallegenic diet or increase apoquel dosage?
