28/02/2026 DATE/TIME of CONSULTATION: 19:03hrs, Sat 28/02/26 CLINICIAN: amz PRESENTING COMPLAINT: bite wound L flank' HISTORY: other dig at home bit him on the Left flank not currently on any meds O has melociam as he hurt his back recent - didnt seem to help much gabapentin causes him to halucinate had LHL amputated at 2yo after a serious fracture CLINICAL FINDINGS: single puncture left flank with some abrasions dorsal and medial to the puncture flushing the wound with saline and some dead space under PROBLEM LIST: DIFFERENTIALS: OPTIONS PROVIDED: o keen to try and close the wound is a more rounded puncture 10mm however will close with a staple TREATMENT: lignocaine block around the puncture and placed 4 x staples placed primopore over o will give meloxicam oral at home - loading dose tonight then sid for 3-4 days CLIENT COMMUNICATION/PLAN: needs staples out in 10 days if seroma develops then needs a rv and possible removed a staple or 4 to allow drainage
